Update on everything going on in JW Land - Insider Information

i'd like to start off by saying that i will be very vague in everything i say.

i am fairly "high up" in jw land and have to be somewhat careful how i word and say stuff.

sorry in advance if any specific details are left out.

- We have often heard on here that the GB are now "rock stars". I have witnessed this first hand. I'm talking about a mob circling around them when they are at an event.

I think the previous "generation" of GB were more careful about limiting their exposure. One story I heard: When Ireland had a big group dfd for apostasy, a bunch of them went to Brooklyn, went on tour and got lots of pictures with the GB and other heavies. Then they returned to Ireland and waved those pictures in front of the local Irish JWs saying how the GB had happily talked to them. Of course, as bethelites we all knew who the GB members were and had our favorite impersonations of them.

Where the previous GB was more private and careful about expressing their opinions, this "generation" of GB is more like Donald Trump. They love being the center of attention and will say whatever notion comes into their heads. Don't get me wrong, the previous GB enjoyed plenty of adoration, but this bunch can appropriately be called "attention whores", I believe.

The Bethelites are not happy. The ones being sent home seem rather bitter yet at the same time trying to come off as still being really spiritual. A lot also seem to be in shell shock. You hear a lot of witnesses also trying to justify why the branch would do this. It's pretty funny the stuff they come up with.

Many of these probably still remember the same comments I heard. I still vividly remember comments from Sydlik encouraging us to stay in bethel as "lifers" and that we would always be taken care of by our "bethel family". And with Jaracz, it was all about the organization and how the headquarters and branch staffs would keep growing and growing. All those promises died, just like those GB members, and were buried right along with them at the Wallkill "Launching Pad".

And these bethelites who've been "put out to pasture" probably remember when most of these current GB members came in as new boys to the Service Department at Patterson. In bethel, seniority rules. So what does the current GB do? Get rid of many of those bethelites that have more seniority than them and replace them with low seniority new members that can still bend over to be good boot-lickers to the GB.

And what is the fixation of the GB, and most JWs, on sex? And especially on homosexuality? I mean, a woman expresses the desire to be a dude so she would have the power to correct something and what does Sammy do? He ignores the "something" that needs correction and accuses the woman of being homosexual. Classic "ad hominem" fallacy.

I've met both JWs and nonJWs that ask a lot of questions like this that can be perceived as overly familiar. I don't take it personally or get offended. My parents would probably be considered by some as "heavy questioners", but it was part of their desire to be conversational. I've often encountered it differently with different cultures. Where my parents wouldn't inquire about "are you married/dating/seeing someone/interested in getting fixed up with someone I know", I've been around plenty of other cultures (including nonJWs) where this was their next question after my name.

It kinda depends on my mood and whether I feel like engaging. If I'm really uncomfortable, I excuse myself for whatever reason, to go to the bathroom, or get something to drink, then not rejoin them. If I do feel like engaging, and I usually do, I make my answers sincere and interesting. I think that anyone who's read some of my many posts will understand that I never give one word answers... well, except for new members where I may just say "welcome".

what are your parents names?

Ask me that and I'll engage you in a conversation for several minutes about my family history and ethnicity. It's a conversation I've had many, many times. Then, it's polite to inquire about their family

I dunno, maybe I've just been through all kinds of personal questions enough times that they just don't bother me that much.

i have attended only one meeting in the past 3 weeks.

i know there is no way to leave this cult fast enough, but is my fade too fast?

Are there others in the congregation that are also weak, faded, irregular, or otherwise occupying the eldurs' time?

Some congregations have enough problems that they don't even notice if someone quietly stops attending.

I thought that the elders were guided by holy spirit but so many things just didn't make sense

You were indoctrinated to believe that the elders received magical, invisible guidance. They don't. It's all mind-control that empowers some and crushes others. It's foundation is a corporation directed by some dudes in Brooklyn who got their positions of authority by kissing all the right a$$es while nibbling crackers and sipping wine once each year. There's no "holy spirit" anywhere in that mess.

Can somebody explain the songs and songbook obsession?

i've been out a while and have only put in a rare appearance at a memorial or brief visit at a convention/assembly to keep people off my back, so i haven't kept up on the songbook.

but one thing i've noticed that the org.

has been doing that they never did when i was in is all these "supplemental songs" that keep appearing.

It seems to be their latest brainwashing effort. The talks and other meeting material are all recycled over-and-over with rare nulite thrown in. The teachings are nothing to get excited about, so they change the names of the meetings and throw in some new songs. They need to keep the sheeple busy and coming back to the cult website, so these songs provide a distraction while the GB continues their attention on the money-grab.

That all depends on what the "....." is:

"If I were a man, I'd horsewhip every abuser that I found out about." -- not necessarily a lesbian.
"If I were a man, I'd have sex with every hot woman I could." -- may be a lesbian, but really needs to clarify that by saying "a smart, rich, hot man".

Whatever the case, trying to make sense out of the crap coming out of his mouth is impossible. It's so totally sexist and devoid of any sense. WT Corp is doomed in the hands of idiots like this guy.

Last night my husband got an email from the elder who was his friend. They want to meet up because sisters, in another congregation saw him out to lunch with a women.... My husband, who isn't a born in, thinks its just ridiculous and with his career has no time to deal with it. Of course I am pissed!

Lovely, the JW gossip mill is running full steam. When I was removed as an elder, I used that mill to expedite my fade and the elders have left me in peace since then. While the accusation against me was little, the fury of the gossip mill against the elders turned on with a passion after I spread my side. Here's a link to that thread:

Who were these sisters and why didn't they follow the "Scriptural instruction" to clarify these matters with the supposed offender before spreading the story? If they saw him, they could have easily gone up and said hello and the matter could have been cleared up in a minute. Instead, they ran off to start feeding the slander machine that is designed to condemn him as an adulterer. Paul had plenty to say about such busy-body women in the congregation.

Now you have the opportunity to go to everyone in the congregation and ask them if they started or spread this gossip/slander. And you can let them know that you're just not comfortable with the lack of love and scriptural obedience in these local congregations.
